THE STORY BEGINS IN LAUGHLIN, NEVADA - APRIL 2012
Trudy Platzer, LVRRS Founding Chairman, Since 1999
The Las Vegas Railroad Society was founded with children's education in mind, dedicated since 1999 to create one of Southern Nevada's finest educational 'Fieldtrip Destinations' in history!
Foundations & private donors who collaborate with the Las Vegas Railroad Society's diligent efforts, enable our museum group to provide year-round hands-on education to all local students, adults and seniors; as also better quality of life for local special-needs children!
Thank you for supporting our tireless efforts, for all the right reasons!

LRRS Advisory Board member Lee Beil was instrumental, that the Las Vegas Railroad Society received such a unique railroad museum gift donation, provided by Tropicana Express Resort in Laughlin, NV. Pictures below demonstrate diligent team effort of LVRRS board members, committee members and enthusiastic RR volunteers. / Additional 100% pro-bono support from Tropicana Express staff; and supportive pro-bono support from (2) local trucking companies, and tremendous corporate support & team effort of a local sign (crane) company where employees did not accept any pay and helping (3x) with smiling faces. / Last but not least, in 2018 items were once again relocated to its final location, at Craig Ranch Park, where it is now.

CORPORATE PRO-BONO COMMUNITY SUPPORTERS
VISION SIGN INC.: LVRRS' Advisory Board member Billy Blackwell, owner of Bilmar Landscape negotiated with Vision Sign Inc. to team up 'pro bono' with Tropicana Express Resort and with Pan Western Trucking, to help the Las Vegas Railroad Society Museum with loading the donated rolling stock onto 6 truck beds with their cranes.
- Vision Sign Inc. was delighted to help and agreed to offer 100% pro bono support. - The Vision Sign employee/crane operators teamed up with their boss and decided to also donate their time to the LVRRS' unique educational cause without getting paid! - You can see their pictures below!
PAN WESTERN CORP.: LVRRS' Founding Chairman negotiated with Pan Western Corporation to consider teaming up with our major donor 'Tropicana Express Resort', to help to re-locate the entire railroad donation pro bono with their trucks from Laughlin NV, to Las Vegas, NV.
- Moe Truman, CEO of Pan Western immediately embraced the LVRRS just within a couple of hours after receiving the charity's proposal, and 100% pro bono support was instantly provided from Pan Western Corporation to relocate donated goods. - It was a dream come true!
SUNBELT RENTALS was also approached about the 3-day weekend effort in Laughlin, and immediately jumped on the band wagon and provided 75% pro bono support.
After trial and error of trying to find pro bono support all throughout Las vegas, an excellent corporate donation team was now established, ready and prepared to make history happen and undoubtedly, each company succeeded in their own way and established their legendary partnership with the LVRRS.....

- Day One -
PREPARING SIX 40 FOOT TRACK PANELS FOR LOADING.... Taking turn, it was labor of love for LVRRS board members and volunteers - Very hard work, when they removed Thursday & Friday railroad spikes and track connector plates in preparation to align one side of rails of six 40' track pannels so that they could be loaded onto the flatbed trailers..

Once the six 40' rails were aligned, railroad spikes needed to be secured once again, and that was the more difficult job yet, hats off to all, but especially to yesteryear's Chinese laborers.
Below: This was the Plymouth diesel's last important work performance on the Tropicana Express railroad, before the engine is being retired and loaded onto the truck.
As planned and arranged by the LVRRS' President, Bruno Platzer; with help of the diesel engine the 6 rails were moved in place with a chain for easy crane pickup for loading.....

- Day Two -
"JOB WELL DONE GENTLEMEN:"
Another day, working on the railroad. All six 40' track pannels needed to be separated and exposed for Saturday's crane pick up. So, our very special and year-round dedicated volunteer crew removed 240 feet of gravel from all the track pannels to be ready when all trucks are rolling in early next morning. There, they made it! Such dedication to the Las Vegas Railroad Society Museum's educational cause is truly to be admired!

Was everyone sore? "YES INDEED!" But with a sense of great accomplishment, and driven toward loyalty to our educational charity's mission - vision - goals, which is absolutely priceless. We also received staff volunteer help from Tropicana Express, thank you to all!
